Never played in a MilSim or airsoft event before? Never fear, you can learn from the experience of those who came before you.
Even if you’re a seasoned airsoft player, you might still get some good ideas here. It covers the majority of what you could need for an airsoft event.
So, What Do You Need to Bring?
- Your main airsoft gun (AEG, sniper, LMG, etc)
- Whatever airsoft attachments/optics you play with
- A sling
- Your sidearm
- A barrel bag/cover
- A holster
- Spare ammo (depending on your platform, 5000 is a safe bet)
- Spare airsoft magazines
- Knife or e-tool/axe for general utility/entrenching
- A speedloader
- Spare batteries, a charger, or gas canisters for your GBB
- Eye protection (goggles or a full face mask)
- Airsoft gun cases for transport
- A toolkit for field stripping/cleaning
- Cleaning supplies
- A vest where you can organize all your gear
- Gear bags/dry bags
- Protective gloves
- Comfortable clothing, depending on what sorts of weather conditions are expected
- A change of clothing (spare socks, especially)
- Outerwear
- Comfortable footwear, appropriate according to the conditions and temperature
- Kill rags
- Bug spray
- Sunblock/sunscreen
- Sunglasses and a hat
- Personal hygiene items/accessories (a must if you’re going to a multi-day event)
- Camping gear (also necessary if going to a multi-day event; this includes a mess kit, firestarting essentials, sleeping pads/bags, a waterproof canvas or tarp, and a tent if needed – anything you need to camp)
- Flashlight and batteries
- Notepads and writing utensils
- Radios (if necessary)
- First aid kit essentials
- Plenty of water (carry this in your vest)
- Snacks (also carry in your vest)
- Spare cash (you never know when this might come in handy)
- Whatever uniform/camo pattern your team requires (according to event)
While this list is as comprehensive as practicality permits, keep in mind that what you need might vary slightly from what another might need, depending on your position on your team and your personal preferences.
With that said, it more than likely contains everything you need to have a great first airsoft event. All that you need to do now is sign up and get ready for a good time.
